SEATTLE — At least two cars and a Washington state ferry were damaged Thursday when the boat crashed into part of a terminal in West Seattle, according to officials with Washington State Ferries and KIRO-TV.
Authorities said the ferry Cathlamet suffered “significant damage” when it made a hard landing at the Fauntleroy Terminal, striking a part of the terminal meant to help guide boats as they are docking. Images shared by Washington State Ferries showed crumpled metal and a gash in the side of the ferry.
No injuries were reported, officials said.

Seattle police began to turn traffic away from the ferry terminal around 10 a.m. Authorities said the terminal, where passengers typically board for trips to Vashon Island and Southworth, would be closed until further notice.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash. Officials with the U.S. Coast Guard are investigating.
