Staff Council holds final session of spring semester

Today marks the start of spring semester final exams at the University of Georgia: UGA’s spring graduation will be spread out over three days starting on May 13.

The University of Georgia’s Staff Council holds its final meeting for UGA’s spring semester: the virtual session is underway at 2:30 this afternoon.

Jackson County Republicans have scheduled another meeting for Saturday in Braselton: they will hold a re-vote on leadership for the Jackson County GOP after controversy over a party vote that was held last month.

Dick Johnson is a former coach of the high school football team in Jefferson: Johnson has died in Arkansas at the age of 96.

Franklin County residents can now get the Johnson and Johnson coronavirus vaccine: the single-dose vaccine will be made available at the Franklin County Health Department.

Masks will be required, and social distancing will be enforced, but City School officials in Gainesville say Gainesville High School will have a traditional graduation ceremony later this month: it will take place at City Park Stadium in Gainesville.
