The Athens-Clarke County Transportation and Public Works Department is looking for public input on bicycle and pedestrian improvement options for Barber Street. A survey is on the Athens-Clarke County government website, soliciting feedback through May 19.

Tonight’s Madison County Commission meeting is set for 6 o’clock at the Madison County Government Complex in Danielsville. Oglethorpe County Commissioners meet at 6 at the courthouse in Lexington, and their Jackson County Commission counterparts convene at 6 at the courthouse in Jefferson.

There is an afternoon meeting in Elberton: the Elberton City Council convenes a 5:30 session at City Hall in Elberton.

A survey conducted for County Commissioners in Carnesville shows more than 80 percent support for alcohol sales in Franklin County, with just under 18 percent opposed. Commissioners are considering a referendum that would decide the question of alcohol sales in unincorporated sections of Franklin County.
