A 40 year-old Oconee County man was killed in a Wednesday night crash on Timothy Road in Athens. He is identified this morning as Jamie Thrasher. It was a single-vehicle accident. Athens-Clarke County Police are investigating.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s' Office reports the arrest of a store owner on charges of selling alcohol to minors: Mahbub Alam is 47 years old, from Lawrenceville. He was arrested at a convenience store in Hoschton. He was, at last report, still in the Jackson County jail.
A Habersham County teenager is arrested on child sex charges. 19 year-old Francisco Tomas-Antonio is from Cornelia. Charges include aggravated child molestation and sexual battery.
