ACCPD probes reported home invasion

Athens-Clarke County Police are investigating a reported home invasion: a man and woman at a home off Whitehead Road say the were beaten and pepper sprayed by at least three men, all said to have been wearing masks.

There is an ongoing investigation in Winder, where a 15 year-old has been charged in a reported sexual assault that is said to have happened on a school bus in Barrow County.

A man from Hampton faces charges in Hall County: 34 year-old Antwain Parks was arrested after a police chase that began when he ran away from a traffic stop in Flowery Branch. Parks had been wanted on outstanding warrants from Douglas, Gwinnett, and Walton counties.

A Buford man accused in taking part of the pro-Trump riot at the U.S. Capitol has been granted bond. Verdan Nalley was being brought up on several charges in connection with the January 6 unrest in Washington. Nalley admitted to entering the Capitol in the company of his friend, Americus attorney William Calhoun. Calhoun is in jail without bond for his part in the attempted insurrection.
